DPS is hiring positions related to the transportation of our students. These roles are crucial to helping our children be safe and feel safe. All of our positions receive great benefits and you’ll get to work alongside an amazing team that supports you.

Bus Driver

In this position you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of elementary, middle and high school students, on regular routes, excursions and athletic trips. The children you transport may include students with special needs, and we will support you by providing the assistance of a paraprofessional who will be on the bus with you to help the children. All drivers will be provided with a GPS and video surveillance for your peace-of-mind.

This hourly job position starts at $16.69 per hour​, with great benefits and summers off. We offer shifts with flexible hours including mornings, afternoons or both.​ If you don’t have a license or know how to be a bus driver, no problem. We will pay for your training, all you have to do is get a permit. You must meet all Federal State and Local requirements, obey all traffic laws and operate the school bus safely.

  • Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado commercial driver's license (CDL) - Class B with P2S endorsements if this license is not currently held

  • Preferred
  • Certification in CPR is preferred

Paraprofessional/Bus Assistant

The Paraprofessional assists with the safe transportation (e.g., to educational and special events) of special needs students for assigned bus routes in accordance with training, policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations. This position will supervise students by reinforcing positive student behaviors and relating administration policies.

We will train you to perform this job, so no certification or licensing is needed. This position starts at $12.00 per hour with a Monday-Friday schedule, and has some flexibility in how many hours you work. Benefits are eligible with minimum hours, plus you will have summers off!

Non-CDL Route Operator

The Non-CDL Route Operator safely and efficiently transports elementary, middle and high school students, to and from school. This position also comes with great benefits including PERA retirement and the opportunity for career growth. We offer competitive pay, starting at $14.25 per hour​, as well as paid training. We also offer shifts with flexible hours including mornings, afternoons or both.

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Must maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and meet District insurability standards
  • Successfully complete driver training class
